Artist
Mirko Demattè is a contemporary artist from Trentino who investigates the relationship between matter, memory and construction. His research focuses on matter and on the construction of space as an allegory of existence.
Through a plastic, process-based practice, he develops a language built on constructive geometries, voids and dynamic structures organised along axes of virtual orientation. The two-tone use of the surface and materials such as enamels, oxides, wood and metal activate narratives tied to time, memory and becoming. His works translate into signs the transformations of the individual and of society, holding a constant tension between balance and instability, between rootedness of identity and openness to change.
His work has been presented in national and international contexts, in dialogue with the worlds of art, architecture and contemporary culture.
